About the role

The Kohde Business Development Manager needs to be an experienced sales person that understands both the software development world (thorough knowledge of tech solutions, platforms, capabilities and languages) and how our solutions can solve, add value and optimise businesses. 

The person needs to be able to connect with our target audiences which are primarily key-decision makers within organisations that can drive change related to their systems, processes and IT requirements (CIO’s, CTO’s, CEO, IT Executives and Business Owners) and who has a strategic vision and budgetary resources to implement these changes.

This person needs to be able to thoroughly understand and listen to our target audiences’ requirements and effectively match if Kohde can provide solutions that meet their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities, securing those opportunities and helping establish early relationships with potential clients.
  • Successfully convert new target accounts, creating the foundation for long-term, value-based relationships. Success is the sale of win-win value propositions and nurturing executive relationships for continuing business.
  • Ensure the creation and execution of pursuit strategies, and build value aligned propositions at the company and at an individual level with clients.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Kohde’s service offering and speak confidently about them with prospects.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and to capitalise on lead generation campaigns & other initiatives.
  • Accurately track and report on lead generation activities and metrics, including the number of qualified leads generated, meetings booked, and conversion rates.
  • Approach client executives as true business partners versus software delivery partners.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: 5 years+ proven business development track record within the South African IT sector, specialising in Software Development solutions.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of software development, solutions, trends, technology and platforms and be able to recommend best practices & solutions to potential clients. Knowledge of selling custom software solutions and the teams required to execute on projects.
  • Persuasion: Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders at the business and technology level, persuade, influence & build trust.
  • Motivation: Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision with a results driven approach.
  • Culture: Should also be able to work within the context of a team environment and identify areas where business development opportunities exist.
